A native of Valhalla, New York, Ms. Hamann is a graduate of White Plains High School and
Michigan State University, where she received a B.S. degree in General Human Ecology.
Her graduate studies were conducted at Florida State University and she received her
Master of Social Work in 1977.
Upon graduation, her first employment was with First Step of Sarasota, Inc.,
soon followed by eight years at Charlotte County Mental Health Clinic, Inc.
This offered a full range of supervised experience prior to entering private practice.
The mother of two grown sons, Ms. Hamann has been a resident of Sarasota County since 1972.
She has been a member of the National Association of Social Workers since 1976,
Board Certified in Clinical Social Work since 1984 and Board Certified in Clinical Sexology
by the American Board of Sexology. She is also a Board Certified Hypnotherapist
by the American Council of Hypnotist Examiners.
Ms. Hamann has been included in Who’s Who in Human Services Professionals in 1986 and 1992.
